Constructionline Gold explained
A main contractor has specified Constructionline Gold, not just Constructionline. This explains what that extra word actually requires.
The short answer
Constructionline Gold is the membership tier that adds the Common Assessment Standard desktop assessment on top of the standard register, along with checks on environmental management, quality, equal opportunities, anti-bribery and modern slavery. Where Bronze and Silver cover the core pre-qualification information and the SSIP health and safety element, Gold is a fuller due-diligence assessment, and it is the level most commonly required by Tier 1 contractors and larger public sector frameworks.
What Gold adds over the lower tiers

This is the same standard that CHAS meets at its Elite level, which is why the two are frequently mentioned in the same tenders.

Do you need Gold?
Only if your clients ask for it. Bronze or Silver, which include the SSIP health and safety element, satisfy a large share of subcontractor requirements. Gold is worth paying for when a Tier 1 contractor or public sector framework specifies the Common Assessment Standard, or names Gold directly.
